Bathhouse Case Study – Twin Grove
Situation
Communal bathhouses are becoming no longer socially ideal in campgrounds and ADA facilities are a code requirement.
Background
Hillside Family of Agencies is committed to providing health, education, and human services to all that need it. Servicing approximately 13,000 youth and adults, they work in their communities to solve the most challenging social problems.
Challenge
To continue providing effective service to help families in the community while meeting local codes and providing comfortable facilities for men, women and children.
Solution
Hillside contracted with Conestoga to manufacture a Twin Grove Bathhouse facility that provides private bathrooms and can be customized to include a laundry, storage, or other efficient space.
The Twin Grove is 20 feet by 42 feet, featuring eight separate rooms. Six private bathrooms are spacious and identical with shower stall, toilet and sink. They could be used as family restrooms.
The seventh room can be outfitted to accommodate and ADA compliant bathroom with wider doors, wider shower stall, appropriate sink heights, grab bars and accessible faucet controls. The eighth room can be turned into a laundry services room by adding a washing machine and dryer. Two washers, two dryers and a storage closet fit into this space.
Results
Hillside is able to continue providing their much needed services while offering a more modern restroom facility.
